Sandi O’Shaughnessy of Iron Lotus Core Fitness is our recommendation for personal training, strength and conditioning coaching, and group fitness training in Kapaa, Hawaii. She uses the most effective fitness tools such as Kettlebells, TRX suspension training, heavy ropes undulation training, BOSU, and Pilates reformer. Her classes are not only versatile; they are effective, as the results of training with her produce healthy strong bodies. Sandi holds certifications from AFAA in personal training, as well as TRX group and personal training certifications, Burn with Kearns MMA Conditioning, and Art of Strength Essentials (kettlebells and ropes). She works with all ages and fitness levels, from seasoned athletes to teens and seniors. Her education and training supports her clients in personalizing their workout experience to the levels they need. Whether taking a class or doing a one-on-one session with Sandi, each time is a different and unique experience.
In addition to owning her own studio, Sandi works as a group fitness instructor at the Kauai Athletic Club, designing her own programming to offer clients a unique and challenging workout. Anyone can join the gym, or do a drop-in class at the KAC any day of the week. Sandi teaches a class called “Workout Warrior.” Taking a group fitness class supports motivation and enthusiasm to continue your work out when otherwise you might want to stop. If a gym environment is not for you, Sandi can train up to 3 people at a time in her personal studio.
She regularly attends fitness conferences and trainings on the mainland to stay on top of the latest fitness philosophies, and to offer first- class training to her clients. These conferences provide new, cutting-edge workouts that provide students with innovative ways to approaching training. Sandi thrives on providing inventive, stimulating work out regimes to her regular clientele and students at the gym.
Sandi takes a personal approach to each client, catering their workout to best suit their fitness and endurance levels while ensuring they get a challenging and fun workout. Considering injuries and any limitations one may have, Sandi is able to adjust her workouts accordingly. Most of her sessions use body weight exercises in addition to the tools. She also offers traditional Pilates reformer and wunda chair sessions.
